2008-05-06 Race 2 Recap

Racers & Race Fans,

The weather could not have been any more on our side this weekend. With tempatures between the 70's and high 80's the track surface was hot, the winds were calm and the air REAKED of racing.

Our Saturday practices went well. No complications in the schedule and everybody seemed to understand the group orders. Keep in mind we post the document online for you to have before you arrive, but if you forget you can always get one at registration.

We also executed two Intro Courses on Saturday. All went well and we got a few new riders from them who started racing on Sunday. For the First time ever we ran our first Novice training for Stage I. The four riders who participated did well and we were able to see the results in their racing on Sunday. Next training offered for CUP riders will be June 29th - Novice & Intermediate trainigs. Contact Josiah at info@scminigp.com with questions.

Sundays race was terrific. We got off to a late start. With procedure changes to help streamline our EMT support our riders meeting kicked off a bit late. However, we still have a lot of people not making it to the track early enough. Please take the time to look at the schedule and insure you arrive with time to check in (signatures required daily), unpack, and get your bikes ready for tech inspection. We hope to see better results on our time operation for next month with your cooperation.

However, as usual we made up time and the races went down. Two non-events make up one hell of a race weekend. There were a lot of close battles, many of which went down to the checkerd flag. Results to be posted soon!

Thank you to everybody for your support. And a special thanks to our Event Staff: Steven, Ken, Toni & Daryl! (And Jessica for scoring) They all did a terrific job this weekend and we look forward to next months race.

Next Events:

June 7th & 8th - Race #3
