The San Mateo IMS was a huge success. There were over 41,000 attendees passing through the 5 exhibit halls over the 3 day weekend. There were 150+ vendors displaying and selling motorcycle accessories. All the 2008 models from the major manufacturers were available to sit on. The weather was great allowing 2 full days of demo rides from Can Am, Kawasaki, KTM and others.
SCminiGP was very well received in Northern California. We spoke with so many people about our Youth Road Racing programs and the interest was very high showing that Northern California is ready for a organized Youth Road Racing program. We had a few of the usual comedians that wanted to talk about YouTube videos of adult pocketbike stunts, but once we explained how pocketbikes are instrumental in young rider development their attitudes changed.
The Long Beach IMS promises to be even bigger than San Mateo. More vendors with special guest appearances from Ricky Gadson and Steve Rapp and of course those demo rides will make Long Beach IMS a show you won't want to miss. The SCminiGP booth will be hosting a contest to give away a free Youth Intro Course ($150 value). Drop by our booth to see if you win.
