SCminiGP is proud to announce Austin DeHaven, Benny Solis Jr., and Drew Price have been invited to attend the Red Bull AMA U.S. Rookies Cup tryouts. The tryouts take place at Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham, Alabama in the end of September. All 3 are previous SCminiGP class champions.
Austin is currently racing with SCminiGP in the 50 Light, Thunder GP, Formula GP, and 80 GP classes. He is in first place in the 50 Light and Formula GP classes. Benny is racing in USGPRU and has won the West Coast 125GP class. Drew a previous season champion is currently racing in WSMC.
Austin and Benny are scheduled to try out this coming Saturday at Barber. Drew, who was invited last year has decided to stick with his current game plan riding for West Coast GP cycles.
Based on the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup in Europe, the AMA U.S. Rookies Cup will focus on seeking out North and South American racing talent between 13 and 16 years old (born between January 1, 1992 and December 31, 1994). The 2008 Red Bull AMA U.S. Rookies Cup will consist of a minimum of 9 rounds of racing. Eight rounds will be held in conjunction with the AMA Superbike Series and one round of the series will be held in conjunction with MotoGP's visit to Monterey, California.
